Focus of overseas banks

(Apr. 5, 2005) According to the China Banking Regulatory Commission
Shanghai Supervision Bureau, 100 foreign-funded financial institutions
from 27 countries and regions have opened representative offices in
Shanghai. With China's growing economy and notably improved investment
environment, Shanghai is quick becoming the focal point of overseas banks
and their first stop in the Chinese market.
