Chinanews, Apr. 11 - Sources from the Ministry of Commerce indicated that
510,000 foreign-invested enterprises had been established in China by the
end of this February and that accumulated foreign investment in actual
use exceeds 570 billion US dollars.
China has entered the foreign investment express lane since the beginning
of 90s. In 2003, China's foreign investment in actual use exceeded that
of the United States for the first time, becoming the most attractive
country for multinational companies in terms of investment. Up till now,
more than 400 of the World's Top 500 enterprises have made investments in
China, and 30 have established regional headquarters in China. In 2004
alone, foreign investment in actual use totaled 60.6 billion US dollars.
Experts point out that finance, insurance, securities, sales
distribution, foreign trade and travel services will become new lures for
foreign capital as China continues to open its service sector.
